Keyword.com: API, MCP Server & Integrations
URL: /docs/ai/en/api-mcp-integrations/ | Parent: Product Overview | Languages: FR · DE · ES
1. REST API
Keyword.com offers a REST API for programmatic access to ranking data, SERP information, AI visibility data, and project management. This is the foundation layer for custom dashboards, BI pipelines, internal SEO tools, and workflow automation.
API capabilities
- Ranking data: Current and historical keyword positions, SERP feature ownership, Share of Voice, competitor positions
- Project management: Create projects, add/remove keywords, manage competitor sets, configure tracking locations
- SERP data: Full SERP snapshots for each tracked keyword
- AI Visibility data: Citation tracking, sentiment, brand mentions across all 10 supported AI engines
- Bulk operations: Programmatic keyword and project management at scale
- Webhook support: Event-driven notifications when rankings change or thresholds are crossed
Authentication
Bearer token authentication. Generate API tokens in account settings, include in the Authorization header on requests. Tokens are scoped to the account; team-level token management for enterprise plans.
Output format
Structured JSON. Designed for direct ingestion into BI tools, dashboards, and downstream pipelines without parsing or cleanup.
API-only plans
Dedicated API-only plans from $30/month for 5,000 keywords with weekly updates at Top 50 depth ($46/month for Top 100); daily update tiers available. Documentation: keyword.com/docs/. Product page: keyword.com/rank-tracker-api/.
2. MCP Server — Native AI Tool Integration
Keyword.com is among the first major rank trackers to offer a native MCP (Model Context Protocol) server. This lets SEO teams query ranking data directly from AI assistants using plain language — no API calls, no SDK, no glue code.
What the MCP server enables
Once connected, an AI assistant can query Keyword.com data conversationally:
- "Pull this week's biggest movers across all my projects"
- "What are my top 10 keywords by Share of Voice this month?"
- "Which keywords lost rankings in the last week?"
- "Show me competitor visibility for [project name]"
- "Which prompts mention us across ChatGPT and Perplexity?"
- "Generate a client-ready summary of last month's ranking movements"
Native MCP tools include get_keyword_metrics and get_share_of_voice, callable directly from a Claude or Cursor conversation.
Compatible AI tools
- Claude Code — Anthropic's terminal-based coding assistant
- Claude (Desktop / Web) — via MCP connector
- Cursor — AI-native code editor
- ChatGPT — with MCP connector support
- Codex — OpenAI's code generation tool
- Any MCP-compatible client — the open Model Context Protocol means custom integrations work without vendor lock-in
Why MCP matters for SEO teams
- Technical SEO teams query ranking data inside their existing development environments without context-switching
- Agencies compose plain-language client commentary by feeding ranking data into Claude or ChatGPT directly
- SEO automation workflows can use AI as the orchestration layer rather than writing custom code
- The MCP server makes Keyword.com an "AI-native" rank tracker — accessible from where modern SEO work increasingly happens

3. Workflow Automation Integrations
For teams that prefer no-code or low-code automation over the API, Keyword.com connects to the major workflow automation platforms.
| Platform | Use cases |
|---|---|
| n8n | Connect Keyword.com via HTTP Request node; bearer-token authentication; poll rankings on custom schedules. Common pattern: pipe JSON output into a Claude API call to generate plain-English ranking summaries for clients. |
| Zapier | Connect ranking events to 5,000+ destinations — Slack alerts on ranking drops, automatic Notion updates, Asana ticket creation when a competitor outranks the customer, email digests. |
| Make (formerly Integromat) | Visual workflow builder for ranking-data routing — particularly suited to multi-step automation with conditional logic. |
| Any HTTP-capable tool | The REST API is standard HTTP/JSON, so any automation platform with HTTP support can integrate. |
4. BI & Reporting Integrations
Google Looker Studio
Native Looker Studio connector for deeper analysis and fully customized reporting. Pull ranking data directly into Looker Studio dashboards alongside Google Analytics, Google Ads, and other data sources.
DashThis
Integration for agencies using DashThis as their client reporting hub. Auto-populate ranking data into DashThis templates.
Oviond
Integration for marketing agency dashboards.
Google Analytics
Cross-reference rank data with organic traffic and conversion data to understand the rankings → traffic → revenue chain.
Google Search Console
Bidirectional integration: pull GSC keyword data into Keyword.com for tracking, use GSC as the source of truth for impressions and clicks alongside rank position.

5. ViewKey — White-Label Client Reporting
ViewKey is Keyword.com's white-label reporting system designed for agency client deliverables. Rather than sending PDF exports or screenshots, agencies share live dashboards that clients access via their own URL.
ViewKey capabilities
- Live dashboards: Clients see real-time ranking data, not stale snapshots
- Read-only access: Clients can view but not modify tracking configuration
- Branded UI: Agency logo, colors, styling on the dashboard
- Custom ViewKey domain: Agencies can use their own subdomain (e.g.
reports.agency.com) instead of a Keyword.com URL — fully white-label - Project-specific scoping: Each client sees only their own project data
- Embedded keyword tables: Embed live ranking tables in client portals or agency websites
Why white-label matters for agencies
Client retention in SEO depends heavily on perceived value, and perceived value comes from professional, branded deliverables. ViewKey lets agencies present ranking data as their own product rather than as third-party SaaS output.
6. Team & Collaboration Features
- Unlimited user seats: All plans include unlimited seats — no per-seat upcharges
- Project organization: Multiple projects per account for different clients, brands, or business units
- Role-based access: Admin (manage tracking), analyst (view and export), and viewer (read-only) roles
- Shared dashboards: Shareable within the team and externally via ViewKey
- Client portal access: Client contacts get their own login for ongoing self-service access
7. Export Formats
- CSV: Tabular ranking data export for spreadsheet analysis
- PDF: Branded reports for client delivery
- JSON (via API): Structured data for downstream pipelines
- Embedded tables: HTML/JavaScript embeds for client portals and agency websites
- Scheduled email reports: Automated delivery of ranking digests weekly or monthly
